Serving Our Community

The “Great Mandate” of Jesus is found in Matthew 25:31-46. Jesus said to feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, take in the stranger, clothe the naked, visit the sick, and visit the prisoner. Remember: "those that give to the poor shall not lack". The “Great Commission” given by Jesus before He ascended back to heaven is found in Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus said, “All authority is given to Me in heaven and in earth, As you are going, make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit; teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you: and behold I am with you to the end of the world.” As followers of Jesus, we obey both the Great Mandate and the Great Commission.

Ripple Effect Ministries (Outreach)

Convalescent Hospital Services
This church ministry provides Christ-centered services at more than one facility in Yucaipa, bringing the Word, music, and prayer to shut-ins. We are partnering with “His Loving Touch” (HLT) in the Yucaipa Valley.

Stephen Ministry
This church ministry is a complete system for training and organizing lay people to provide one-on-one Christian care to hurting people in the church as well as in the community. Hurts can arise from unexpected crises, and the process is initiated by a request made to the Senior Pastor. He will recommend a referral, and after much prayer, a caregiver is matched to the care receiver. Stephen ministers receive an initial fifty hours of training with materials sent from the organization headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. There are some Stephen Ministers who have received Leadership Training, so that the caregivers have adequate guidance and ongoing continuing education.

People who need care:
    * Receive quality, Christ-centered, confidential care for their hurts and needs.

    * Find hope, healing, and a new sense of self-worth through the support of a     Stephen Minister.

    * Know they are remembered and supported by their congregation in times of personal difficulty.

    * Receive ongoing care for continuing needs long after the onset of a crisis, when many others have forgotten about them.

   * Grow in a deeper relationship with the Lord as they experience God’s unconditional love for them through their Stephen Minister.
