Single Living:

Singleness in the United States is increasing every year. There are currently 82 million unmarried adults representing 44% of all adults over 18 years old (48 million who have not married, 20.5 million formerly married, 13.5 million widowed – 2000 census)

Single Again:

13.5 million are widowed in the United States (2000 census). Forty-four percent of first marriages, 60% of second marriages and 72% of third marriages end in divorce in the U.S. Becoming single again, either by death of a spouse or death of a marriage, can be one of the most difficult experiences a person will ever face.

Single Parents:

There are currently about 14 million single parents in the U.S. (2000 census). This special type of family needs support and encouragement from friends, family and the Church in many areas: Childcare, home repairs, car repairs, financial management, time alone, parental skills, adult friends, and conversation and more.

Blended/Step Families:

Blended and step families are no longer unusual in our society. They are commonplace. Second and third marriages now comprise more than 40% of all marriages in the U.S. (FL Dept of Vital Statistics 1997) and the percentage is increasing each year.

Yucaipa First Assembly does not have at this time a Singles Ministries, but welcomes Singles to participate in all areas and levels of church life.
