Sunday School Classes:

Adult Sunday School

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of truth.” II Timothy 2:15

sunday schoolSunday School for adults is an exciting, vibrant class in which all of the Scriptures are methodically covered. This is important, for the Word of God is so powerful, that lives are enriched as each one engages and grapples with the Biblical principles that are revealed and applied for practical living.

Children’s Sunday School

“…let the children come to me and do not forbid them.” Matthew 19:14

sunday schoolSunday School has been available for all children at the 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. hours. The goal has been to reverse the Bible illiteracy statistic in our nation, after a survey questioning the children of our area revealed that most of them had the Bible stories mixed up or intertwined, and very few had a true grasp of the applications of Bible principles behind any of the Bible stories.

The purpose of Sunday School is to not only expose the children to the biblical principles, concepts and “doctrinal stance” on an easy-to-understand level, but to make the Bible “come alive” and show how God is real and personal.

The Sunday School curriculum has embraced a chronological through-the-Bible approach, demonstrating the relationships between Biblical characters, and showing linkages wherever possible to the things Jesus said. The major focus has been to show how God’s purposes, His desire for man to seek Him with the whole heart, and His plan of blessing versus consequences for disobedience of His commands shown in the Old Testament are still relevant today. This lays a strong foundation for understanding God’s methods and plan in sending His Son to die for us, and in sending the Holy Spirit to empower us, as clearly taught in the New Testament.

Making the Bible stories exciting in a way that creates a hunger in children to serve the Lord, trust Him in all things, and be filled with the Holy Spirit is the underlying motivation behind each lesson plan. There has been an observed increase in retention of “accurate” Biblical knowledge, and anecdotal stories from parents revealed that application of Biblical principles are being practiced at home.

All volunteers who work with children must fill out a Children’s Workers Application and be willing to have a background check.
